Last night, while doing a bit of laundry, I noticed a bit of commotion across the street from my apartment, in Inwood Park. I’d heard about plans for a September 11 Memorial, so I grabbed my camera and went out to see if that’s what it was.

It was hidden back a little, on the soccer/football field I run by on my way into the Inwood hills. What I came upon, though, was stunning. A full sized flag for every victim of the attacks.

I was able to walk around the field, completely alone. The sight is amazing, unfortunately, as often seems to be the case, my camera couldn’t do it justice.

If you’re in New York this weekend, stop by some night and give it a look. I’m sure there are events planned for Monday, which I plan to be on hand for.
